Cherokee Indian food

The Cherokees planted crops for food. When the Cherokees eat diner they had two coursers.


First they had a drink, the drink was a Staghorn Sumac Tea: One whole seed spike (deep Red) some add sweeteners. Next they had there starters, the starters where:

· I-Ya: fresh, whole pumpkins

· Minty mushy peas: olive oil, spring onions, mint leaves, frozen peas, butter, salt pepper

· Corn chowder: potatoes, corn, onions, bell pepper, salt, sugar, pepper Then they had there main course. The main course was: Freid hominy: strips of bacon, white hominy, little onion, and black pepper Succotash: beans, corn, pumpkin (optional)

Next they have there main course:

  • Fried hominy: strips of bacon, white hominy, little onion, and black pepper
  • Succotash: beans, corn, pumpkin (optional)
Tandorie Chicken: 12 pieces of chicken, half a cup of tandorie chicken powder, plain yogurt, salt, two limes
